Libedit V2.1

This version works with Eagle V4.x.

See previous Libedit V1.00 for use with Eagle V3.55

Provides an easy way to move Devices, Packages and Symbols between libraries.

NOTE: - IT ONLY WORKS WITH EXPORTED LIBRARIES
i.e. THOSE WITH ". SCR" EXTENSION... NOT ". LBR"

Overview: -
Load your source library into Eagle Library editor.
Ensure you have selected default grid resolution for Package & Symbol editing.
Do a "File" "Export" "Script" option to save the library in .SCR form.
Repeat above as required for other source libraries
Use Libedit program to edit contents of your source library .SCR files and any new .SCR files created by the program
Run Eagle Library editor again and with a new (empty) library execute the above modified .SCR files to create a new library.
Save this as a new .LBR file for use with eagle.

Libedit Instructions:-
Best way to learn is to have a play. Try it, it may do what you expect... If not send me an email!

Libedit is divided into two halves. The left being the source file, and as such is never modified. The right side being the destination file which will be written to. Exiting the program closes the output file with changes made.
The Display options select which part you want to work with.
When Device is selected then its Symbols & Packages etc will also be copied or deleted providing they are not in use by another Device.
With Symbol or Package selected then only that is copied/deleted etc
Renaming a Device, Symbol or Package will do just that
Connections allows you to add another package to a device and copy its connections from another package. Obviously both packages must have the same number of pins and connections to the symbol. If not, you will need to do this when using Eagles Library Editor.

One day this program will be redundant. I thought it was going to happen with V4

Any suggestions, praise etc to I.Hemmingsen@gns.cri.nz
